Franklin Launches New REACH-compliant PSA for Ultra-removable Applications
Franklin Adhesives & Polymers, a manufacturer of water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), has launched a new REACH-compliant microsphere PSA, Micronax 300-01. The company reports that Micronax 300-01 is developed for use with ultra-removable applications, such as removable labels, linerless labels, and wall graphics. It offers greater mechanical stability and reduced foam, which improves the coating process. Microsphere technology opens new possibilities for applications requiring removable PSAs according to Franklin. The particle size of microsphere adhesives is much larger than traditional emulsion PSA. Microsphere adhesives contain polymer particles between 10 microns to over 100 microns in water matrix. They excel in ultra-removable and repositionable applications, such as sticky notes and removable labels.
Franklin reports that microsphere PSAs offer four key advantages over emulsion PSA technologies:
- Repositionability
- Consistent adhesion
- Long-term clean removability
- Minimum residual and damage to the bonding substrates upon removal
“We are thrilled to introduce Micronax 300-01 to the market.” said Zhaohui Sun, vice president of Polymer Business. “This product embodies our commitment to innovation and compliance. In trials, our customers have given positive feedback regarding the product’s processability and consistent performance, offering invaluable validation of our product design.”
