Brenntag Acquires Italian Chemical Logistics Site
Brenntag, a chemical and ingredients distributor, announced an agreement to acquire a chemical logistics site of Chimica D’Agostino in Italy. The site is located in the industrial area of the city of Bari. The Bari site, being well connected with the Adriatic highway, has easy access to harbors on the sea.
The company reports thattThe site will increase their presence in the South-Italian market and optimize its site network in the region. Brenntag Essentials will serve the Southern Italian market through its sites as Bari on the Adriatic coast and its Anagni site on the Tyrrhenian coast.
Brenntag Essentials combines a cost-efficient network of last mile service operations with regional sourcing and supply chain services, and global sourcing, according to the company. This acquisition will expand Brenntag’s last mile operation options in the region and add specific regional tollgate functions. This investment is part of Brenntag Essentials’ “Strategy to Win”, strengthening the company’s site network and growing market shares, fostering Brenntag’s customer proximity and regional market position.

The new site in Bari offers automation facilities for dilution, filling, and packaging. The site includes an operating area with a tank farm/hypo tanks storage and a powder warehouse, a solvent tank farm, possibilities for mixing & blending, a loading/unloading area, the packed warehouse, and dilution plants.
